Taking Zhongjie Station of Shenyang Metro Line 1 as an example, a numerical model is established and verified by experiments. Based on the established model, the effects of the vent position, vent area, and vent opening angle of the adjustable vent screen door system on the platform ventilation characteristics are analysed under both island and side platform conditions. The results show that the vent position has little effect on the ventilation characteristics of the two platforms. The piston air volume on the platform is positively correlated with the vent area, however, when the vent width exceeds 300 mm for the island platform and 200 mm for the side platform, the piston air volume no longer increases. When the vent opening angle increases from 15° to 45°, the piston air volume for both the island and side platforms significantly increases.
